Meet the new jodi in town! Yes, we're talking about Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor who have set out to shoot for their first film together - Shaandaar. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the movie is based on a destination wedding. Both of them suffer from insomnia in this movie and it is their quirkiness that gets them bonding.

The team has flown to UK to shoot for the film. Shaandaar also stars Pankaj Kapur and happens to be Shahid's sister Sanah's debut. It is slated for release sometime in 2015.

What are your thoughts on this jodi?

It looks like Alia Bhatt is taking her reputation as the female serial kisser very seriously. Her first four films Student Of The Year, Highway, 2 States and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya featured the actress in a lip-lock positions with her co-stars.

Now one hears there would be a kiss, albeit a very pertinent one, between Alia and her new co-star Shahid Kapoor in her next film Shaandaar.

While the film’s director Vikas Behl remains tight-lipped about the lip-lock one of the film’s core-team members spilled the beans saying, “There was a very important kiss in the script. But Vikas was not keen on going through that scene mainly because Shahid is not quite Alia’s chum’s age-group. Vikas didn’t want any awkwardness between them. But both Shahid and Alia were cool with the idea of the kiss.”

Alia in an interview with me had confessed she had a school-girl crush on Shahid after she saw him in his debut film Ishq Vishq.

Shaandaar is Bollywood’s first film about a destintation wedding.

A few days back, Shahid took to microblogging website Twitter and announced that the movie is almost done. He tweeted, “En route Poland for the last 4 days of this SHAANDAAR schedule. Can't believe the films almost done.”

The makers of upcoming movie "Shandaar", which stars Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, have cleared the dues of the workers associated with the film, said the workers union General Secretary Gangeshwar Shrivastav.

Director Vikas Bahl's "Shandaar" shooting was put on hold after the members of The Film Studio Setting and Allied Mazdoor Union stopped working because of non-payment of dues. However, the makers soon released their payment and the workers resumed work.

"Over 200 members have been working for the film but their payment of close to Rs.7.5 lakh was not being released, so when on Monday our workers stopped co-operating with the makers, they immediately released the payment," Shrivastav told IANS.

As soon as the payment was made, the members decided to continue shooting for the next schedule.

"Now, we will also co-operate and will work on their next schedule, which is scheduled at Film City. But this kind of unprofessionalism would not be tolerated because the workers face problems due to delay in payment," said Shrivastav.

Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor wrapped up the final schedule of their upcoming movie “Shaandaar”. The actress took to her Instagram account to share a grumpy selfie with her co-star.

Now that you’ve shot with Shahid Kapoor for Shaandaar in Europe do you still have a crush on him?

It was a childhood crush. I was 10 when I saw Ishq Vishq and for an actor to be so good in those days meant a lot to an impressionable girl like me. I thoroughly enjoyed my shooting . It was my longest stint outside India. We were shooting in Leeds and Poland for 45 days. But it was amazing. We were like one big family. The film is about a destination wedding, and that was the mood during the shoot. Our director Vikas Bahl was like a patriarchal figure. He was so supportive to every person on the sets. He never loses his temper.

Would you like a destination wedding for yourself?

I don’t know. All I know is, I want to look amazing at my wedding. Beyond that I haven’t thought about my wedding.

How was it working with Shahid?

I was more nervous about the film than about working with Shahid. It was great fun working with him. Otherwise I wouldn’t be doing another film with him. Of course, Shahid has 11 years’ more experience than me. I was aware of that. And I love observing my co-actors . Shahid is very helpful on the sets. And he is hands-on. He goes out of the way on the sets. He’s not just an actor on the sets. His enthusiasm level was very very inspiring. I keep telling him that. It’s so refreshing to see him being so eager to learn. I want to be like that. I never want to have that know-it-all attitude. My Dad always says one should always be unsure. It helps one to grow. I saw no smugness in Shahid’s attitude.

Kangana gave a rousing performance in Vikas Bahl’s Queen. Can we hope for more of the same from you in Shaandaar?

All I can say is, it is something different from what I’ve done so far.
